New VP for Global Advancement Joins LAU New York Team

Ms. Rima Zaitoon was appointed Vice President for Global Advancement effective September 1, 2023.

Ms. Zaitoon heads the Development Team in New York. She will lead the global advancement programs for the university and will direct planning and execution of a major fundraising campaign for LAU worldwide in collaboration with President Michel E. Mawad and the Board of Trustees.

Ms. Zaitoon has more than 20 years of experience in international and domestic fundraising at academic institutions in the US, the MENA region and at various consulting companies. She is a senior-level fundraising professional, expert in strategic philanthropy and partnerships, and has an impressive track record in planning and implementing fundraising programs, achieving business growth, and securing multi-million-dollar gifts.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Zaitoon worked at her two alma maters, International College and the American University of Beirut. Most recently, she worked at Yale University and New York University Abu Dubai.

Ms. Zaitoon holds a BA in Political Science from the American University of Beirut; and certificates in Accounting and Economics from the Economics Institute at the University of Colorado, Securities and Market Analysis from New York University, and an Accounting Certificate from the American Institute for Banking.

I know that I am not only helping a noble institution, but also helping the people of Lebanon and the country I love,” she added.
