Endowed Chairs
The number of full-time faculty members at LAU has more than doubled since 1992. To further strengthen our academic programs and enhance our research output, our faculty must continue to grow. Named endowed chairs are vital in this process as they help attract and retain first-rate faculty who might otherwise be drawn to other institutions.
Endowed chairs recognize a distinguished faculty member’s contributions to their respective field and bring the symbiotic nature of teaching, scholarship, and community service into focus. They also establish a permanent legacy for the donors who make them possible. We are seeking to establish a number of endowed chairs in each of our seven schools. These may be established with a gift of $2 million. The donor has the opportunity to name the specific discipline of the chair, and the chair can bear the donor’s name or the name of another person the donor wishes to honor.
