Bringing Italian Culture to Campus

In honor of Italian Week, LAU held a special “Italian Duo” concert open to the entire community in October that featured musicians from Italy. The duo comprised a guitarist and flutist who performed soundtracks from well-known Italian cinema.

The event — which gathered a full house of students, alumni, and community members in Irwin Theatre on the Beirut campus — was made possible by the Italian Cultural Institute and LAU Office of Development who came together for the important cultural activity. Edoardo Crisafulli, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, opened the concert, speaking about the institute’s renewed cooperation with LAU, and explaining the occasion for the performance.

“The Italian Cultural Institute is very committed to the Lebanese community, and in particular the youth, and have been great partners with LAU to foster more initiatives and events that benefit our community,” said Suha Abou Rialy, Associate Director of Development at LAU, who helped organize the concert.
